Coronavirus Response

Update: September 14, 2020

We're open! All church services including Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evening and Friday evening are back on at their scheduled times.

Update: August 15, 2020

As of this week, the church will be open for services with limited capacity. Here are the details:

1st Service (9:00am)

1st Service is currently designated for at-risk individuals. If you are over 60, or are high-risk due to a pre-existing condition, you are welcome to come to first service.

Families with children, as well as individuals who are not in an at-risk group: We ask that you kindly refrain from coming to first service, and that you please consider visiting us for our 11:00 service instead.

2nd Service (11:00am)

2nd Service is currently designated to any individuals who are not at-risk, including families with children. If you are over 60 or are otherwise part of a high-risk group, we highly recommend visiting us during our 9:00 service rather than our 11:00 service.

Sunday Evening & Wednesday Evening

These services will be open to anyone who feels led to attend. Please be aware that seating is limited.

Children's Ministry & Youth Ministry

There will be no Children's Ministry or Youth Ministry available at either service at the church until further notice. We will continue to hold Sunday School and Youth Group online for now. Contact us for more info.
Due to social distancing requirements, seating is limited. You will be escorted in and out of the building by an usher. Please maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself/your family and other individuals/groups. Designated one-way paths have been set up at the entrance/exit of the building, in the Chapel, and to the restrooms. Please obey the one-way arrows at all times.

Some other things to note:
-The Cafe will be closed until further notice. Bottled water will be available at every seat, provided by the ushers before the doors open.
-For Communion services, pre-packaged Communion cups will be provided by the ushers at every seat before the doors open.
-Hand sanitizer stations have been set up throughout the building. Please wash or sanitize your hands after coughing/sneezing or blowing your nose. Please wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water when visiting the restroom.
-All hard surfaces including doorknobs and faucets will be sanitized by ushers in between services.

If you feel sick

If you or anyone in your household feels sick, has a fever, or is experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, please refrain from coming to church. You can watch our service online at 11:00am, either on the website at calvarygp.com/livestream, and through Facebook Live. If you would like prayer, feel free to contact us any time. We look forward to seeing you again once you are clear of symptoms!

Dear Church Family,

Calvary Chapel Grants Pass' vision is to "Go Deeper", so that we can go further into the community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Although the Coronavirus might limit how we take the Good News to those who need to hear it, please rest assured that the Gospel will go forth! As such, we will continue to move forward with our vision. Instead of the church body coming to the "Church" building on West Harbeck, the church will be taking the love of Jesus Christ to our communities.

Current Situation

The White House has advised all Americans to avoid groups of more than 10 and has urged older people to stay home in a set of guidelines designed to fight the spread of Coronavirus.

Kate Brown, Governor of Oregon, has issued an Executive Order stating that no groups larger than 25 can gather. Also, venues must be able to accommodate a social distancing minimum of three feet when gathered.

Calvary Chapel's Response

1. Weekly Services
In accordance with the recommendations of the government and health officials, we are going to move our services completely online for the time being. We offer the online service both on the website at calvarygp.com/livestream, and through Facebook Live. We will continue to live stream the Sunday 11:00am, Sunday 6:30pm, Wednesday 7:00pm, and Friday 6:15pm services. All services are also available to watch on-demand any time via our website and YouTube channel. On-demand recordings are typically  available the day after the service is held.

2. Corporate Prayer Service
We will continue to meet for prayer Sundays at 5:00pm with men upstairs & women downstairs in room 4 until further notice.

3. Home Groups
We want to emphasize that the home groups will continue to meet as scheduled and encourage those of you who don’t already, to meet together at your homes. We would also further encourage the body to bring the church to their neighborhoods by inviting people to watch the online services in their homes.

4. Calvary Chapel Home Delivery
Since we highly recommend all those who are in any of the at- risk groups to stay at home and stay safe, we will be blessed to pick up your pre-ordered groceries, etc., from any Grants Pass business location. Also, we will be delivering DVDs of all the recorded services to those who do not have the ability to watch online. You can request DVDs by calling our office at (541) 476-6827, or emailing Jeremy at [email protected].

5. The Refuge Center
The food pantry will continue to be open to the public on Fridays from 3pm – 5pm. The BBQ has been suspended until further notice, and the worship service will be available via livestream only.

6. Youth
The youth will continue to meet in person in the Fellowship Hall at the regularly scheduled times. The youth will be provided food, etc.

7. Tithes & Gifts
Since the church is not physically open, you can tithe by mail, on our website, or through our phone app. Please prayerfully consider also a love offering as we attempt to share the Gospel in these unprecedented times.

If you have any questions, prayer requests, praise reports, or would like to host a small group, please contact Pastor Kevin at 541-916-6542 or [email protected].

It is CCGP Leadership’s desire to teach the Word of God, minister to the church body, and continue to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through every avenue and opportunity God gives us.  Through these times of uncertainty, one thing never changes – The Word of God, the love of God, and the Hope that we have in Jesus.  The World needs Jesus!
I pray that you continue to be a part of our vision through participation and prayer.
