Good Friday, 2020 - "Death on the Cross"

Hey church family!

It’s hard to believe, but Easter is almost here. With that in mind, today we’re learning about the saddest day of the Holy Week—the day Jesus died on the cross. As sad as it is, though, it’s such an important part of the Gospel story. There is no, “He is risen,” without their first being “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”

When you’re ready, watch the lesson video with your kids. It’s fun for the whole family and there is an opportunity to pause and discuss. (You can access the YouTube playlist here.) Afterwards, there are two great worship videos from Yancy to choose from: one is for older kids and one is for younger kids. If you want to sing more Yancy songs with your kids, you can stream them here

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Death on the Cross (Luke 23:32-46)
Big Idea: God’s grace is big enough, so we can go to Him no matter who we are or what we’ve done.
Memory Verse: “God’s grace has now appeared. By his grace, God offers to save all people.”  Titus 2:11 (NIrV)

After the video lesson and music, you can use the attached materials to help take your family deeper into the lesson:

-Family activities guide
-Seek and Find activity sheet
-Coloring page for kids
-GO! Home guide for kids
-Bible verse sign

Lastly, I want to echo the words of Paul in Philippians 1:3, “Every time I think of you, I thank God for you.” I’m so proud to partner with you so the light of Jesus may shine in the lives of your children. God bless you!

In Him,

Cheryl
